HI All Artists
On behalf of Rotary and the Daylesford Art Show committee we want to thank you for entering your works into the Daylesford Art Show 2016. This as many of you know was my first year at helping to organise the show and WHEW!!!! It was a great success! And we couldn’t have done it without the your works.
Their was 301 pieces entered from 101 Artist.
The response we got from the public was also fantastic and there was much praise for the high standard of the work on show – (YES… Pat yourself on the back!)
So results speak for themselves as we sold 45 paintings over the 4 days of the show which is the most pieces sold to date at the show!
Those of you who sold painting in the show your cheque will be sent to you in the next day or so…$$$$
It was also great to be able to meet so many of you whilst you where either dropping off or picking up your works or on the opening night.
We could not have done it without your support and we hope to see you and your works on show next year for an even bigger and better result.
FYI – The winners for each catagory as judged by Victor Rubens were awarded to (see pics below)
1st Prize for Pastels – Valerie Roberts – Cushions
1st Prize for Watercolours – Denise Longmire – Kookaburra
1st Prize for Drawing – Chris Rowe – Dreamscape
1st prize for Oil/Acrylic – Bruce Ramage – Inland Dreaming
I also want to especially thank the Artober Committee below – Who without them there would not have been a show
Victor Szwed – who got together all the Artober events including the Art Show, got sponsorships, donations and raffle prizes organised and who co-ordinated me to get things done at the right time.
Roberta Donnelly and Brian Nash for all the work they did to get all the works hung. It was a massive job and I am sure you will agree it looked fantastic. They also donated their own works and their time to get sponsors and sell raffle tickets and where huge contributors to the success of the show.
Alan Harrison – who sat at the sales desk at the show and managed all the finances throughout the year.
Danny Mohnihan – who co-ordinated the raffle tickets and the sales.
Rob and Margaret McDonald – who got sponsorships and also donated wines for the opening night
Gordon Nightingale – who helped to set up the screens, lighting and music.
Greg Thompson- who got sponsorships and chaired the meetings and signed the cheques!
And also to the many other Rotarians who hep out before, during and after the Show.
It was a massive effort from a great team of people who donated their time, effort and money to help to get the show put together.
Thank you again and see you all in 2017…..
